Australia

Indian citizens who wish to visit Australia for tourism purposes have to apply for the visitor visa (Subclass 600), which allows them to go to Australia for business or tourism related activities. Tourism includes recreation, holidays, sightseeing and visiting friends and family in Australia.

When you apply for a tourist visa, you cannot work for any business or sell services/goods in Australia.

Canada

Most travellers need a visitor visa to travel to Canada. You may also need one if you’re transiting through a Canadian airport on your way to your final destination.

Most visitors can stay for up to 6 months in Canada. At the port of entry, the border services officer may allow you to stay for less or more than 6 months. If so, they’ll put the date you need to leave by in your passport.

New Zealand

The New Zealand Visitor Visa is for travellers who are from non visa-exempt countries (or from visa-exempt countries but wish to stay for longer than the time limit). The visas allow visitors to enter for tourism, adventure activities, amateur sports events, and for studying (for up to 3 months).

The validity of visitor visas varies though the longest is 9 months. Partners and dependent children (aged 19 and under) can be included on the visa application. Applicants need to show they have enough money to support themselves.

UK

You can apply for a Standard Visitor visa if you want to visit the UK:

  • for leisure, for example on holiday or to see your family and friends
  • for business, or to take part in sports or creative events
  • for another reason, for example to receive private medical treatment
USA

Generally, a citizen of a foreign country who wishes to enter the United States must first obtain a visa, either a nonimmigrant visa for a temporary stay, or an immigrant visa for permanent residence. Visitor visas are nonimmigrant visas for persons who want to enter the United States temporarily for business (visa category B-1), for tourism (visa category B-2), or for a combination of both purposes (B-1/B-2).
